Silsoe Stride are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998). We collect information about you for 2 reasons: firstly, to process your entry and secondly to provide you with the best service possible. We will not email you information about our partner promotions and special offers unless you have given us your consent. We will give you the chance to refuse any marketing email from us in the future.
Who are we?
The Silsoe Stride is run by a team of volunteers since 2013. The idea of a fundraising fun run was born out of the need to raise funds to replace the lead on the village hall roof, which had been stolen. The Silsoe Stride has since continued to support more local charities over the years. Raising money for our local good causes where all net proceeds are shared with event, charities and local community causes in Silsoe. All our generous sponsors, donors and volunteers are supporting us throughout the year to run a successful event helping with donations or providing prizes for our raffles.
The type of information we will collect about you when you enter an event or register on our website:
- Phone number
- Email address
- Race entry details
- Credit/debit card details
This information is already stored in our email system and our partner site for taking bookings and payments (which are currently made through active training world). We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent. The information we hold will be accurate and up to date. The personal information that we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal security policy and the law. We may use technology to track the patterns of behaviour of visitors to our site but will not collect any personally identifiable information when doing this.
We use the information you provide for the following purposes:
- To send newsletters, health and safety information, course info and information updates about the event you have entered. You can not opt-out of this before the event if your entry is approved.
- To send newsletters about details of our other events, offers and promotions in which we believe you will be interested.
- To send updates regarding the status of your entry.
- To give you a result.
- To publish your result as part of the overall list of results published after each event.
When you enter an event we need to know your name, email address, entry details, contact details, credit or debit card number and the card’s expiry date through Active Training World. This allows us to process and fulfil your entry/order and to notify you of the status of your entry/order.
Third Party Service Providers working on our behalf:
We may pass your information to our third party service providers, agents subcontractors and other associated organisations for the purposes of completing tasks and providing services to you on our behalf (for example to St Johns Ambulance, Race day coordinators, ActiveTrainingWorld, Race Comper). However, when we use third party service providers, we disclose only the personal information that is necessary to deliver the service and we have a contract in place that requires them to keep your information secure and not to use it for their own direct marketing purposes. Please be reassured that we will not release your information to third parties beyond the Silsoe Stride network for them to use for their own direct marketing purposes, unless you have requested us to do so, or we are required to do so by law, for example, by a court order or for the purposes of prevention of fraud or other crime.

You have a choice about whether or not you wish to receive information from us. If you do not want to receive direct marketing communications from us about our same day courier work and our exciting aviation logistic courier services, then you can select your choices by ticking the relevant boxes situated on the form on which we collect your information.
We will not contact you for marketing purposes by email, phone or text message unless you have given your prior consent. We will not contact you for marketing purposes by post if you have indicated that you do not wish to be contacted. How can you access and update your information?
The accuracy of your information is important to us. We’re working on ways to make it easier for you to review and correct the information that we hold about you. In the meantime, if you change email address or any of the other information we hold is inaccurate or out of date, please email us at email@example.com.
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information Silsoe Stride hold about you (we may charge £10 for information requests) to cover our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you.
We will not be responsible for correcting inaccuracies in third party Personal Information unless you have informed us of such inaccuracies and we will provide you with reasonable assistance in complying with your obligations as a data controller under the applicable Data Protection Laws in relation to any inaccurate third-party data.

Any sensitive information (such as credit or debit card details) is encrypted and protected with the following software 128 Bit encryption on SSL.
