The Silsoe Stride is set within the magnificent grounds of Wrest Park and neighbouring farmland. This provides for a very scenic 5K and 10K race, ideal for runners of all abilities including those new to running, with a gently undulating route where you can Run, Jog or on the 5k Walk.

Within the 10K race there are a few hills, note that the 10k race is not suitable for walkers.  Our fun, friendly atmosphere ensures everyone has a great time, with a popular Children’s Fun Run for those born after 30 June 2014 also on the day.

The Children’s races vary from 100m to 1000m and children are allocated to races based on age and school year group. All finisher receive a medal. First girl and first boy in each race will also receive a trophy.

The Stride is organised by volunteers and groups from the village and all profits are shared to beneficiaries within the village.  In previous years over £24,000 has been shared between groups within the village.

This year the planning, organising and running of the Stride is being shared by Silsoe Pre-School, Silsoe Lower Football Club, Silsoe Scout Group and Silsoe Millenium Green Trust.

We thank the Burton family for allowing us to race over their private farmland.

We much appreciate the continuing support provided by English Heritage, National Sameday and the Silsoe Sports Centre.

There is plenty of space for everyone on the Wrest Park playing field and we welcome family groups to spread out. We currently plan to have a refreshments area.

If necessary, we will start the senior races in waves rather than en-mass and barriers should keep supporters away, but not too far, from the start / finish. Chip timing will support this.

There will be toilets spaced out with suitable control of access.
